Risk at a Glance

Learn how to quickly assess site suitability with Risk at a Glance.

The Risk at a Glance feature provides direct insights about the potential risks associated with a project site to streamline the decision-making and risk evaluation processes.

In this article, we’ll review how to:

Understanding Risk at a Glance Data

The Risk at a Glance feature is segmented into a color-coding system using aggregated scores from Species, Waters, Protected Areas, and Environmental Compliance.

You can use this guide to understand the risk level of each area:

  • High Concern (red): There is a high risk that these resources will affect the project footprint, timeline, or budget.
  • Moderate Concern (yellow): There is a moderate risk that these resources will affect the project footprint, timeline, or budget.
  • Low Concern (green): There is a low risk that these resources will affect the project footprint, timeline, or budget.

Using the Risk at a Glance Feature

To get started, select the Map from the top navigation bar. From the Map, you can identify risk in the following ways:

Parcels Layer

With the Parcels layer activated, you can enable the “Show Risk at a Glance” toggle. This will color-rate each parcel on the map to determine which sites might be suitable based on their risk levels. The opacity can also be adjusted to make it easier to visualize on the Map.

Quick Parcel Select

When using Quick Parcel Select in the map, the Parcels layer and “Risk at a Glance” feature will automatically activate to indicate the associated risk with each selected parcel.

Parcel Filter

Once a boundary has been created using the Parcel Filter, the “Site Selection” modal will populate on the right side of the page. This modal displays the selected parcels' concern levels (low, medium, high) as percentages. Users can also include Water Concerns for additional insights. Check out this article for more information on the Parcel Filter.
