Bulk Project Creation (New!)

Learn how to create multiple Transect Reports at once.

Bulk Project Creation allows users to upload files to create multiple projects at once. Manually inputting multiple project boundaries can be time-consuming and error-prone. By allowing users to upload a batch of project data simultaneously, Transect significantly streamlines the project creation process, saving developers valuable time and effort.

In this article, we’ll review how to:

Uploading Multiple Projects

  • From the Dashboard, select Order Report in the upper right corner.
  • On the ‘Project Creation’ page, drag and drop any KML, KMZ, or CSV files containing your projects’ boundaries. Alternatively, you can draw a polygon or line, use Quick Parcel Select, or search to locate your project boundaries.

If you're uploading a CSV file, you'll need to include the name, latitude, and longitude coordinates as columns. Please ensure that latitude is listed first and that the longitude coordinate includes a (-).

  • When finished, click Next to review your projects on the map.
  • Uploaded projects will be shown on the left-side, where you can click the pencil to change the name. On this page, you'll also want to confirm your project boundaries.

    • Additionally, you can click Assign Tags to add a tag to all uploaded projects for easy reference on the Dashboard. Click here to learn more about Tags.
    • If you are creating projects from Latitude and Longitude, you can also specify the radius to create circular project AOIs.  The radius will not be visible on the map view of your projects, but the reports will show it!
  • Once you’ve confirmed all of the project boundaries and/or assigned tags, click Next to continue.
  • On the final page, you’ll input responses to the context questions shown below. These responses will apply to all created projects.
  • Lastly, click Order Report (#) to start the report generation process.

Please note that depending on the size and complexity of your areas of interest, this process may take several minutes to complete.  Please wait for all of your projects to be created before leaving the page.

Viewing the Reports

Once the report generation process is complete, you can view all of the reports on the Dashboard. If you assign a Tag to your reports, you can easily filter to locate reports with that tag.

It’s recommended to add Tags to all of your associated projects so they can be quickly located.
