Transect’s Marketplace is your one-stop shop for environmental services. Transect's Marketplace streamlines the environmental services process for developers, helping them save time and money. The Marketplace also provides access to vetted consultants, making it ideal for new development companies or for developers expanding into new regions and looking for local experts.

Accessing the Marketplace
Transect users can access the Marketplace within a Report or by selecting Marketplace from the top navigation bar.
- Within a Transect Report:
- Open a Transect Report.
- Select Marketplace Items from the left-side menu, then click Marketplace from the dropdown.
- Choose a Marketplace Product from the available options and click Order Now.
- Review the Scope of Work and check the box to confirm the area of interest.
- Some Marketplace Products may require you to review and sign an agreement. Click Review and sign your name at the bottom. When finished, select Save.
- After confirming your order, select Order Now or Request Quote.
- From the Top Navigation Bar:
- Select Marketplace from the top navigation bar.
- Choose a Marketplace Product from the available options.
- On the next page, select Order Now/Request Quote to initiate the process.
- Choose an existing project from the list or select New Project to create a project boundary and click Order Now.
- When finished, select Order Now or Request Quote.
Confirming your Order
When ordering a Marketplace service, there will be two options when you're ready to proceed— Order Now or Request Quote.
Marketplace services that show "Order Now" have a fixed price that is displayed in the app. These services include the Planning & Zoning, SHPO, and Local Rules & Regulations. Once these services have been requested, the appropriate vendor will be notified. The remaining process is captured below in steps 6 & 7.
Other Marketplace services, such as Phase I, Wetland Delineation, ALTA Survey, Threatened and Endangered Species, and Interconnection Feasibility, will show the "Request Quote" option. Here's a recap of the process associated with these services:
- One of the aforementioned services is requested and Request Quote is selected.
- The Marketplace Team sends the request to vetted consultants.
- The quote will be uploaded to the user's "My Orders" page within 1-3 business days. Every quote is carefully reviewed by The Marketplace team, and the best option is selected based on key factors such as competitive pricing, turnaround time, vendor reliability, and proven performance. This ensures users receive the highest value and quality service.
- If the quote is accepted, the user will provide a completed Site Access form (if required).
- From here, the service will move to "In Progress" and the Marketplace Team will ensure the timelines are met.
- When complete, the Marketplace Team will review the deliverable to ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards and then upload it to the user's "My Orders" page.
- The user will receive an email notification to advise that the request is complete, where they can navigate to Marketplace > My Orders and download it from the "Deliverable" column. They'll also have the option to rate the deliverable in the "How we'd do?" column.
Tracking a Marketplace Order
After placing an order through the Marketplace, you’ll receive email notifications about the status of your order. You can also check the status of your order in Transect in two ways:
- From the top navigation bar, select Marketplace > My Orders
- Within a Report, select Marketplace Items from the left-side menu > Marketplace > My Orders.
You'll see your pending orders from the “My Orders” page, where you can search or filter to refine the list.
