Please note: Transect currently supports OAuth, but does not support OAuth2.
Benefits of SSO
Single Sign-On (SSO) allows users to access Transect using their existing corporate credentials, eliminating the need for separate Transect logins. This provides several benefits:
- Simplified Access: Users log in with familiar credentials.
- Enhanced Security: Centralized authentication reduces password-related risks.
- Improved User Experience: No need to remember multiple passwords.
- Streamlined Management: Manage user access through your IT Admin.
How to Enable SSO
Setting up SSO for your organization takes just a few steps:
-
Contact Transect Support. Submit a support ticket through our chat or email us at support@transect.com, including details about your current provider (Microsoft, Google, etc).
- If needed, complete the SSO Enablement form. If your SSO setup differs from existing OAuth providers, we may need additional information. We'll provide an SSO Enablement form for your team to complete to provide the authorization endpoint, token endpoint, and any other necessary details.
- Sit back while we configure it. Our engineering team will set up the SSO connection using your provided Metadata and provide an estimated go-live date. We'll reach out 24 hours before it's available and once the attributes are mapped, users will be able to log in with their organization's credential.
How to Reset Your Password
If your organization uses SSO, password resets are handled by your OAuth Identity Provider (IdP) — contact your IT administrator for assistance.
If you don't use SSO, you can follow the steps in our Password Reset article instead.
