Is IPaC data included in Transect Reports?

Learn how Transect's habitat analysis and integrated data layers go beyond a basic IPaC report to provide a more reliable view of your project site.

When it comes to species assessments, accuracy is critical for renewable energy developers. While IPaC uses a broad, national-level range for species, Transect provides a more accurate assessment by integrating multiple layers of data, including:

  • Habitat-Specific Analysis: While IPaC only considers a species' range, Transect considers both the species range and whether your site contains suitable habitat. This means that we won't indicate a species is present unless the appropriate habitat exists within your area of interest (e.g. you won't see a fish show up in the middle of a cornfield).
  • Comprehensive Data Integration: In addition to using the same geospatial range data from IPaC (from USFWS ECOS), we incorporate a wealth of additional information, including geospatial data from state agencies, universities, and credible surveys that are not found in IPaC reports.

By combining habitat and data analysis, Transect delivers detailed and reliable species assessments, helping you move your projects forward with confidence.
