In today’s rapidly-evolving environment for renewable energy projects, Asset Marketplace provides a platform for sellers to list development assets for sale and for buyers to discover acquisition opportunities. 
In this article, we’ll review how to:
Creating a Free Core Membership
- Navigate to https://asset-marketplace.transect.com/login and select Sign Up.
- Provide your email address and select Continue.
- Input the verification code that was sent to your email address and select and click Continue.
- On the “Account Creation” page, you’ll include your Full Name, Company Name, Role (Buyer or Seller), and Company Website. When finished, click Submit.
You’ll be routed to the Asset Marketplace automatically where you can view listings or contact sellers.
Listing a Project
- After creating an account, select Create a Listing at the top of the page.
- On the next page, you’ll provide details about your project, then select Next at the bottom of the page. Please note that only the following fields are required:
- Project Name
- Project Type
- Project Sub-Type
- State
- County
- After inputting project details, you’ll have the option to provide information about the project location, including the number of parcels, acreage, buildable acreage, and more. When finished, select Next.
- On the “Interconnection” page, you can add optional information about the point of interconnection, voltage, and any substations, then select Next.
- The “Assets included” page provides a list of the possible assets associated with your project. Click the toggle next to any applicable assets and if applicable, upload any associated Asset Documents. To continue, select Next.
- The “Additional Information” page is where you can include any other relevant details about your project. When your listing is complete, click Submit.
Your listing will then be reviewed by our team and posted once the listing is approved.
Contacting a Seller
- After creating an account, navigate to the All Listings tab from the top navigation.
- You’ll have the option to search or filter the listings by:
- State
- ISO/RSO
- Project Type
- Once you’ve located an ideal project, you’ll select Contact Seller.
- An email form will populate, where you’ll provide a subject line and message to the seller about your interest. When finished, select Submit.
You will be notified of any responses via email.

General
- Does Transect serve as an advisor in acquisition discussions? Is Transect a broker?
No, Transect simply provides a passive platform for buyers and sellers to connect. Transect does not review or provide any guarantees about project assets for sale, nor provides any guidance to sellers or buyers. At this time, Transect is not earning any income or commissions from this Marketplace.
- Do I need to be a Transect customer to use Asset Marketplace?
No, the Asset Marketplace is public and open to all users.
- Does Transect verify buyer and seller identities?
Transect makes reasonable efforts to verify that buyers and sellers are legitimate parties, and reserves the right to remove accounts or project listings if they are suspect. However, Transect makes no guarantees about buyers, sellers, or the projects listed.
- Is the Marketplace integrated with the Transect app?
Not today. It may be in the future.
- What if a seller or buyer seems to be fraudulent?
Notify us with details and we will investigate.
Selling
- How long will a listing stay live?
Indefinitely until a seller removes it.
- Can I change or delete a listing once it's live?
Yes, sellers can edit any or all of the information in a listing by selecting their profile in the upper right corner, then My Listings.
- Can sellers be anonymous?
No, sellers must disclose their company name.
- Can the project location be anonymous?
Only the state and county of the site are required. The city or coordinates are not required.
Buying
- Do I make transactions through the platform?
No. Asset Marketplace is a means for buyers to view listings and contact the seller if interested. Any financial transactions would take place offline.
- Do I need to disclose the acquisition price to Transect post-sale?
No, because Transect does not currently charge a “success fee” based on the acquisition value.
